Abstract

This paper explores the depiction of Surxon women in the literary works of Erkin A’zam, a prominent Uzbek writer known for his deep engagement with the social and cultural life of Southern Uzbekistan. The analysis highlights the moral strength, resilience, and cultural rootedness of Surxon women as represented in A’zam’s novels and short stories. Drawing on textual evidence, literary criticism, and comparative analysis with other Uzbek authors, this study emphasizes how these female characters reflect broader societal transformations and the negotiation between tradition and modernity.
