This article analyzes enclaves and exclaves on the world map, their types, distinctive features, historical origins, and unique characteristics, particularly the reasons for changes in borders resulting from redistribution and fragmentation during the colonial period. In particular, it highlights the Kaliningrad exclave and its position in the international geopolitical arena.
