Abstract

The article emphasizes that pragmatics is a branch of linguistics that studies how people use language in real-life communication. It focuses not only on the literal meaning of words but also on what speakers actually mean in different situations. It also explains how pragmatics helps us understand indirect meanings, polite expressions, and hidden intentions in conversation.
