This article explores the transformative role of innovative technologies in preparing future educators to design, execute, and optimize reading instruction in contemporary educational environments. Modern pedagogical frameworks demand a transition from traditional text-decoding approaches toward dynamic, technology-enhanced instructional models that foster critical literacy, student engagement, and personalized learning pathways. Utilizing a systematic review and qualitative content analysis, this study examines how digital tools—including interactive digital storytelling applications, adaptive learning platforms, augmented reality text visualizers, and artificial intelligence-driven reading diagnostic tools—can be integrated into pre-service teacher training curricula. The findings indicate that structured exposure to educational technology during initial teacher education significantly enhances prospective teachers' technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK), enables effective lesson design, and refines their ability to assess reading comprehension in real time. Ultimately, the study provides strategic recommendations for higher education institutions to modernize teacher preparation programs, ensuring future educators possess the necessary competencies to design adaptive, engaging, and high-impact reading lessons.
