This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the most ancient and most important holiday of the Uzbek people — Navruz — based on an ethnological and cultural anthropological approach. The study examines the historical origins of Navruz, its artistic and ceremonial system, social and ecological functions, and its role in the formation and strengthening of ethnic identity. The author considers Navruz rituals not only as a holiday, but also as a complex ethno-cultural system that expresses the cosmogonic ideas of the people, the philosophy of nature, and the sense of social solidarity. The scientific novelty of the study is that for the first time Navruz is analyzed as a holistic ethnological system through the theories of Van Gennep, Eliade, and Durkheim.
