The article discusses the principles of adaptation of the urban environment of Central Asia to climate change at the spatial and landscape levels. The study is based on a comparative and analytical review of Russian-language scientific publications on urban climatology, urban planning and landscape architecture of hot and arid areas using systemic, historical and genetic approaches and the method of large-scale zoning. Five groups of climatic risks of cities in the region are identified and six principles of adaptation are formulated: contextuality, landscape-water basis of planning, network green and blue infrastructure, density and ventilation management, adaptation of traditional methods, multi-level management.
