Abstract

This article examines strategies for developing empathy and cultural awareness in students through culturally responsive pedagogical approaches in literature lessons. It highlights how students can understand cultural contexts, explore diverse perspectives in literary works, benefit from teacher modeling of cultural competence, and connect literary texts to contemporary social issues. These strategies foster critical thinking, empathy, social awareness, and collaboration skills, transforming literature lessons into meaningful, modern, and interactive learning experiences.
