Abstract

This article examines the scientific and methodological foundations of using folk pedagogy in developing primary school pupils' oral speech. The educational potential of proverbs, riddles, tongue twisters, fairy tales, legends and folk games in developing communicative competence is analyzed. Practical methods for integrating folk pedagogy into mother tongue and literacy lessons are also presented.
