LINGUISTIC POTENTIAL AND THE LANGUAGE BARRIER: PSYCHO-PEDAGOGICAL ASPECTS OF INTERCONNECTION

This article explores the intricate, multi-dimensional relationship between an individual's latent linguistic potential and the manifest psychological and pedagogical manifestations of the language barrier. Moving away from purely empirical or experimental data, this study synthesizes foundational and contemporary frameworks within cognitive psychology, psycholinguistics, and educational theory – most notably the Affective Filter Hypothesis, Self-Efficacy Theory, and Dynamic Systems Theory. The analysis demonstrates that a learner's raw neurocognitive and structural capacity for language acquisition is fundamentally non-linear and highly sensitive to emotional, situational, and instructional variables. The study outlines the systemic taxonomy of language barriers (including communicative anxiety, fear of negative evaluation, and identity destabilization) and maps them against internal cognitive resources. Ultimately, the paper establishes a psycho-pedagogical matrix designed to systematically lower the affective filter, transforming hidden linguistic potential into functional communicative fluency through structural scaffolding and psychological safety protocols.
