Abstract

This article analyzes the clinical significance of safety and radiation control in radiological examinations. Based on scientific sources, it discusses the effects of diagnostic methods using ionizing radiation, particularly radiography, computed tomography, fluoroscopy, and interventional radiology procedures, on the health of patients and medical staff. The study considers the issues of justified referral for radiological examinations, optimization of radiation dose, adherence to the ALARA principle, application of diagnostic reference levels, and strengthening of individual dosimetric monitoring. The analysis showed that ensuring radiation safety is essential for reducing unnecessary radiation exposure without compromising diagnostic effectiveness, protecting high-risk groups, and improving the quality of clinical decision-making. The study also substantiates the need for the comprehensive implementation of organizational, technical, and preventive measures to improve the quality of radiological services.
