THE CONCEPT OF LEXICAL MINIMUM AND ITS INTERPRETATION IN LINGUISTICS AND LANGUAGE DIDACTICS

This article examines the theoretical foundations of the concept of the lexical minimum, its linguodidactic significance, the stages of its formation and development, and its role in contemporary language education. Drawing on a comparative approach, it reviews the scholarly perspectives of leading foreign linguists and synthesizes the principal methodological principles underlying the development of lexical minimums. In addition, the article proposes an authorial approach that may serve as a methodological framework for developing proficiency level-based (A1–C2) lexical minimums for the Uzbek language.
