The article examines the features of the pronoun as an independent part of speech in the Russian language and the basic principles of pronoun classification. Special attention is paid to the classification of pronouns by meaning: personal, reflexive, possessive, demonstrative, definite, interrogative, relative, negative and indefinite pronouns.
